Nature, Rearranged<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once in the forest
\nThere came to live
\nA man named Doe<\/p>\n

He ran from the city
\nUntil he got lost
\nAs far as he could go<\/p>\n

He was a smart man
\nA genius he claimed
\nOutside of the forest green<\/p>\n

But here he knew
\nHe knew nothing
\nExcept Nature was mean<\/p>\n

Not so much mean
\nBut unforgiving
\nWhich is what he sought<\/p>\n

He did bad things
\nIn the city so dark
\nUntil he was caught<\/p>\n

The other people
\nThey forgave him
\nFor all that he did<\/p>\n

The man built a weapon
\nMighty and destructive
\nFor the highest bid<\/p>\n

People died from it
\nHe thought nature did, too
\nWhen he saw the terrible scar<\/p>\n

Soon it was learned
\nWho built his device
\nThey cheered him near and far<\/p>\n

So he ran away
\nTold Nature to take him
\nFor what he had wrought<\/p>\n

In the forest
\nDeep and green
\nA new lesson he bought<\/p>\n

Nature was alive
\nNot at all wounded
\nJust rearranged in small place<\/p>\n

The man lived
\nAnd then he understood
\nWhat was the human race<\/p>\n

It’s all Nature
\nNear and far
\nWherever one might go<\/p>\n

It cannot be destroyed
\nJust rearranged
\nAs the man came to know.<\/p>\n

When I started writing this, I didn’t know quite where I was headed with it.\u00a0 I am not sure I like where I finished, but the point is valid:\u00a0 You can’t really destroy Nature.\u00a0 Make her have ugly spots here and there, yes, but we humans are a part of nature, too, so the things we do are, ultimately, natural.\u00a0 This doesn’t mean we can be careless; everything has consequence, and we should be mindful of what the consequences of our actions might be.<\/p>\n
