The Captain and the Princess<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once there was a man
\nA sailor at sea, you see
\nWho wanted to live life
\nLike the bee he could be<\/p>\n

So he swabbed the deck
\nAnd turned to port for sport
\nHe sailed so well
\nHe could court the court<\/p>\n

The king and queen
\nLiked his lot a lot
\nHe was a lonely fellow
\nBut his heart was not a knot<\/p>\n

He was bound to none
\nFelt he was free to be free
\nLove to him
\nWas a fee for a fee<\/p>\n

This was fine until one day
\nThe royals sought him out for an out
\nDarling princess had to go
\nOn a mission to scout for a scout<\/p>\n

The captain he traveled
\nBy himself for himself
\nNow this princess
\nPut him on a shelf on a shelf<\/p>\n

It didn’t take long
\nBefore he needed to be needed
\nHe was smitten
\nLove’s plant was seeded and seeded<\/p>\n

The captain knew his place
\nWas to ship his ship
\nFrom here to there
\nNot give lip to her lip<\/p>\n

But the princess soon saw
\nAnd knew what he knew
\nWithout hesitation
\nShe wanted love to be, too<\/p>\n

They had their stations
\nStill they would hope for hope
\nLove to this pair
\nWas dope for a dope<\/p>\n

When they arrived at her port
\nShe decided to part with her part
\nShe told him now
\nWas the time to start to start<\/p>\n

They sailed away together
\nMade love time after time
\nSo besotted were they
\nThey could climb any climb<\/p>\n

When they returned to home port
\nAs they knew they must do what they must
\nKing and Queen were waiting
\nWith such trust in their trust<\/p>\n

They knew all along
\nThe two would be a pair without compare
\nSo they smiled on their return
\nTold them to share their love’s share<\/p>\n

Princess and Captain wed that day
\nAnd learned to weather any weather
\nThey love each other still
\nWith no end, forever and forever<\/p>\n

One of my friends likes to write poetry about the sea.\u00a0 That’s what this started out as, but unlike her verses, which tend towards wonderful analogies, I ended up telling a little tale.<\/p>\n
