Today is the third day this week and the second in a row where I left the house without breakfast, the first day being Sunday.\u00a0 Sunday was a special day at church.\u00a0 Around mid to late January the Religious Education group (or department or whatever you want to call it) did a Thing where they paired up kids with secret “Special Friend” adults.\u00a0 The adults knew what kid they were paired up with and, through the people running this activity, sent them messages and such.\u00a0 The kids did not know who they were paired with, but replied via a similar route.\u00a0 This was done a year ago-ish as well, but with a secret Santa kind of theme.\u00a0 This year it culminated on Sunday with a pancake breakfast for all of the participants.\u00a0 (Same thing last year, actually.)<\/p>\n
Now, I was not a Special Friend; I signed up too late to get a kid.\u00a0 However, the folks running the event still wanted my participation, so (1) I got to eat the yummy breakfast (which meant leaving the house without eating) and (b) playing with paper airplanes.\u00a0 The latter was my participation; I helped the kids make and fly paper airplanes after breakfast was done.\u00a0 It was fun and I made the best paper airplane I can ever recall making.\u00a0 I did not do anything special, nothing different from any other time I have made one, but it nonetheless flew better than any previous attempt.\u00a0 The whole affair was a lot of fun and made the delay of my breakfast well worth it.<\/p>\n
Yesterday’s delay and today’s were for similar reasons.\u00a0 Sam and I took Kivuli to a clinic to get her fixed yesterday.\u00a0 This meant leaving shortly after waking up; this clinic requires drop-offs be done by 9:30.\u00a0 Afterward we went to Perkins for breakfast, so the meal was large and yummy, compensating for its delay.\u00a0 Today we picked Kivuli up.\u00a0 Pick-ups had to be done by 9:00, so I got up, got dressed and we headed out.\u00a0 No Perkins this time; restaurants don’t care for animals coming through their doors unless they are service animals.\u00a0 On the bright side, Sam is cooking one of my favorite things for her to cook, bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.\u00a0 So the delay is compensated for once more.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in the virtual world, I have been grinding away at experience and tasks.\u00a0 I put Shaka on a 50 \/ 50 ratio (I explained this last week I believe) for regular \/ AA experience.\u00a0 Her regular experience has been going up quite nicely as a result and her AA experience has only suffered a little bit.\u00a0 Boom and Dan are slowly gaining regular experience as they are still on a 10 \/ 90 ratio, but I may change that based on how well it’s worked for Shaka.<\/p>\n
Task-wise, Shaka is a couple of steps from completing all of the things to be done in a zone called the Grounds.\u00a0 Boom and Dan are behind on this zone because the final task requires going to a zone they don’t have access to yet.\u00a0 All three have been working on another zone’s tasks and have made great progress.\u00a0 With luck, I will finish that zone today.<\/p>\n
There’s not a whole lot else to tell this week.\u00a0 Well, there’s a little more, but I am keeping mum about it somewhat by request.\u00a0 It’s not a happy thing anyway.\u00a0 Tomorrow’s poetry may be inspired by it, so take from that what you will.\u00a0 See you then.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
