In the sky is the moon
\nThe sun and stars, too
\nHere on the ground
\nI find me and you<\/p>\n
I cannot reach the moon
\nBut it is nonetheless there
\nGoing about its business
\nWithout a single care<\/p>\n
I sometimes imagine
\nPlaces I’ll never touch
\nThen I wonder if my imagining
\nCounts for very much<\/p>\n
This is the essence
\nOf everything that is
\nIt exists, it is there
\nGoing about its biz<\/p>\n
Our lives affect so little
\nBut impact each other a lot
\nWe cling to those impacts
\nIt’s really all we’ve got<\/p>\n
Deep in some forest
\nThere probably stands a tree
\nWhich has never known man
\nOne we may never see<\/p>\n
But the tree is there
\nThere are many more that were
\nWhich no one has ever seen
\nTheir lives are not even a blur<\/p>\n
This does not stop
\nTheir existence in the least
\nIt’s mind-boggling to think about
\nAn unfathomable beast<\/p>\n
