{"id":530,"date":"2011-06-03T15:03:49","date_gmt":"2011-06-03T15:03:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.shadowkatmandu.net\/?p=530"},"modified":"2011-06-03T15:03:49","modified_gmt":"2011-06-03T15:03:49","slug":"friday-poetry-where-are-we-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.shadowkatmandu.net\/?p=530","title":{"rendered":"Friday Poetry &#8212; Where Are We Now?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Where Are We?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Where are we now?<br \/>\nOur heads are in the clouds<br \/>\nWe can barely breathe<br \/>\nWith our emotional shrouds<\/p>\n<p>The happiest time we have<br \/>\nIs when we are too young to know<br \/>\nWhat the world is about<br \/>\nBut then we have to grow<\/p>\n<p>Too soon we learn the truth<br \/>\nEmotional variations must intrude<br \/>\nPolitics, sex, romance religion<br \/>\nLife is a perpetual feud<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we cling close together<br \/>\nOther times we stand so far apart<br \/>\nWe are lost, adrift in life&#8217;s maze<br \/>\nTearing up the pieces of our heart<\/p>\n<p>Our innocence is gone<br \/>\nIt quietly retired<br \/>\nEmotional flames lick our soul<br \/>\nUntil our hearts catch fire<\/p>\n<p>Keep that spark alive now<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s all that we&#8217;ve got<br \/>\nOf the battles worth winning<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s the best to be fought<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>****<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I hope you enjoyed that odd bit of verse.\u00a0 That&#8217;s all I have for this week.\u00a0 See you Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where Are We? &nbsp; Where are we now?
