Slackin’<\/p>\n

<\/strong>There I was sittin’
\nI had a job to do
\nBut I just couldn’t do it
\nAnd then the time flew<\/p>\n

I tell you it’s nothin’
\nFor you to worry about
\nSooner or later
\nThings will work out<\/p>\n

For now I’m just slackin’
\nI am taking my time
\nBarely giving the effort
\nIt takes for me to rhyme<\/p>\n

So don’t expect no workin’
\nI’m not doing any today
\nPerhaps tomorrow I’ll get moving
\nIn a more productive way<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The above poem describes my philosophy of late and yesterday fairly specifically.\u00a0 I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday.\u00a0 I even avoided doing something productive in EQ that I have been meaning to do.\u00a0 Part of my slacking includes this blog.\u00a0 Two posts a week is terrible.\u00a0 Next week I hope to do better; more on that later.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, this weekend promises to be very different.\u00a0 Spiff and I are going to an anime convention<\/a> in Denver with a church friend.\u00a0 I am pretty sure I mentioned this last week; it is all confirmed now.\u00a0 The wife of one of my coworkers owns an anime shop, and they have a booth there, so I will know at least three people there.\u00a0 They are expecting a crowd of thousands, so maybe that doesn’t make much difference.<\/p>\n

Spiff continues to make slow progress in school.\u00a0 They haven’t had him doing any actual learning stuff, but he goes every day and they keep him occupied.\u00a0 I think next week he is supposed to start actual schooling.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, we have slacked a little on exercise this week.\u00a0 We skipped Monday as we walked up to the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic and back last Saturday only to find the weather was poor; it was too windy to launch any balloons.\u00a0 We skipped walking on Wednesday due to weather.\u00a0 We only walked two laps on Tuesday; the walk was interrupted both then and yesterday, although yesterday we did continue after the interruption.\u00a0 Today we went a full three laps without stopping, although Spiff did complain about the cold (it was a bit chilly) and the fact we’re going to be doing a lot of walking around tomorrow so thought maybe we didn’t need to walk so much today.<\/p>\n

Next week, I plan to walk every day of the week and do three laps each time with Spiff.\u00a0 It will be a regular week; no holiday.\u00a0 So I plan to get back to five posts a week as well.\u00a0 We’ll see how that goes, but that is my plan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

EverQuest suffered an interruption yesterday due to the big power outage in San Diego and other places.\u00a0 So after slacking all day on everything including EverQuest, I now missed raiding, although this wasn’t my fault.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the bright side, I made some progress in the past week.\u00a0 I raided every night from Saturday to Wednesday.\u00a0 I did some events I had not done before, and completed the last raid event needed to have access to the upper raid zones.\u00a0 I had raided in these zones before, although only by grace of having enough “flagged” in said zones to allow me access.\u00a0 Five people flagged (completed the events necessary) allows one unflagged to get in.\u00a0 Now I don’t have to worry about that aspect.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I am continuing to work on Epic 1.0 quests for lower toons, but the ones I am working on have hit small snags.\u00a0 Mostly waiting on necessary mobs to be up.\u00a0 One snag is a bit of slacking; it requires taking support along to help do things in a zone I really don’t like going to.\u00a0 The zone is Plane of Sky; if you know EverQuest you know the reason for my hesitation.<\/p>\n
