My transportation situation…is pretty much what it was last week.\u00a0 Still borrowing a car from a co-worker.\u00a0 I applied to pre-qualify for a car loan, and, as expected, got shot down.\u00a0 The email saying I was not<\/em> pre-approved for a car loan hit my inbox before I completely finished filling out the app for it.\u00a0 The application was four screens long and I was working on the second screen when I got the denial.\u00a0 An hour or two later, I got an email from a salesman saying I was<\/em> pre-approved.\u00a0 I replied, telling him what I wanted, and he sent back I could get what I wanted–a minivan at the low end of their inventory, price-wise–with half down.\u00a0 No, thank you.\u00a0 If I had that money, I would pay cash for a different used vehicle.<\/p>\n

Still, I have hope for my next paycheck.\u00a0 My plan is to get a car from a pawn shop, where financing is easier.\u00a0 The cars may not be as good, but I am hopeful I can put down a much smaller down payment–five to ten percent at most–and get something I like.\u00a0 Mostly, I need operational, but the selection at the place I am planning to go is usually not too bad.\u00a0 We’ll see, I guess.<\/p>\n

I may go down to the hot springs tomorrow.\u00a0 Or I may not.\u00a0 Neither Spiff nor Sam wants to go.\u00a0 Spiff isn’t comfortable with the clothing optional thing, even if he would be wearing swim trunks, and Sam wakes up too late for it to be worthwhile, thanks to her working a night shift.\u00a0 I am not fond of going by myself, but I may do so anyway.<\/p>\n

Not much else to report for the past week.\u00a0 Shaka continues to do well raiding with the high end team.\u00a0 Spiff is doing well in school.\u00a0 I am working long hours still.\u00a0 Today is the completion of the first pair of fifty-six hour work weeks in one pay period since I started doing the long hours again.\u00a0 The previous pay period I got sick and was a little short.<\/p>\n
