My transportation situation…is pretty much what it was last week.  Still borrowing a car from a co-worker.  I applied to pre-qualify for a car loan, and, as expected, got shot down.  The email saying I was not pre-approved for a car loan hit my inbox before I completely finished filling out the app for it.  The application was four screens long and I was working on the second screen when I got the denial.  An hour or two later, I got an email from a salesman saying I was pre-approved.  I replied, telling him what I wanted, and he sent back I could get what I wanted–a minivan at the low end of their inventory, price-wise–with half down.  No, thank you.  If I had that money, I would pay cash for a different used vehicle.

Still, I have hope for my next paycheck.  My plan is to get a car from a pawn shop, where financing is easier.  The cars may not be as good, but I am hopeful I can put down a much smaller down payment–five to ten percent at most–and get something I like.  Mostly, I need operational, but the selection at the place I am planning to go is usually not too bad.  We’ll see, I guess.

I may go down to the hot springs tomorrow.  Or I may not.  Neither Spiff nor Sam wants to go.  Spiff isn’t comfortable with the clothing optional thing, even if he would be wearing swim trunks, and Sam wakes up too late for it to be worthwhile, thanks to her working a night shift.  I am not fond of going by myself, but I may do so anyway.

Not much else to report for the past week.  Shaka continues to do well raiding with the high end team.  Spiff is doing well in school.  I am working long hours still.  Today is the completion of the first pair of fifty-six hour work weeks in one pay period since I started doing the long hours again.  The previous pay period I got sick and was a little short.

Hopefully tomorrow I will post a poem.  See you then.
