Sorry I did not post yesterday.  Readjusting to long days / weeks, and simply never managed to post.  On the bright side, I did have a nice, long work week.  No sick days, no days off, nothing like that.  I am scraping for money right now, but next week’s paycheck should be nice.

Overall, then, it’s been a better week than last week.  I have a hard drive which is slowly and painfully dying, but next week’s paycheck will fix that.  This means a slight change in hard drive plans.  I had originally planned for my next drive to be a 4 TB drive, but that’s not available yet and I need a replacement drive now.  I wanted to have a 1, a 2, a 4, an 8 and a 16 TB drive as the tech improved and made the bigger options available.  Well, tech hasn’t been going as fast–not doubling like I hoped it would–so I will go for 2, 3, 4, etc., dropping the 1 TB as it is dying and I don’t feel like getting an exact replacement.

One of the really bright bits of this week is that I have a Date tonight.  She is about half my age–yes, I am old enough for that to mean she’s very much legal for me to date–and she’s a sweetheart.  She works at an Arby’s, which is where I met her, so I will call her Ar here.  The plan is a little vague but I am thinking dinner and a movie.  I’ll let you know next week how that went.

Meanwhile, a few positive things on the transportation front.  I have borrowed a church friend’s van for a couple of weeks, and that has been extremely helpful.  In theory, her son reclaims it on Monday; I’ll find out for sure on Sunday I am thinking.  A different church friend is selling me a scooter at a really good price, so I will either not go transportation-less or be transportationless for only a short time.  I will be test riding the scooter in a little bit, but I have seen pictures and I already like it.  It’s red, my favorite color!  It’s Chinese, which means maintenance will be a challenge, but nothing I can’t manage somehow.  Also, a friend of yet another church friend may have a car for sale.  I’ll pass on more about that when I learn more about it.

Finally, here’s this week’s poem:

****

Zip!

Zipping here
Zipping there
Zipping zipping
Everywhere

Never slowing down
Never stopping
Never never
Getting anywhere

I want to see the sights
I want to have it all
I I I I
Think I’m getting dizzy

All this running around
All this madness
All all all all
The time is tiring

Can I take a break
Can I find some rest
Can can can can
We agree on this?

The world isn’t the same
The world is a hectic place
The world the world
Needs to chill

But still we go zipping around
But still we never stop
But but but but
Moving too fast will be our end

Let’s slow down
We can rest a while
I know a place to go
Everyone can find their smile
