Changing The World

This world often seems
Consumed by hate
I hope we find love
Before it’s too late

We are told from the time
When we are very small
That love is the answer
Not hate, not at all

But those who teach
Us this lesson, I know
Display anger and rage
Wherever they go

This makes it hard to see
The answer they have given
That love is the best thing
For the best kind of livin’

No one person can
Bring peace to Earth
It’s a monumental task
Of monumental worth

But if each of us tried
To turn anger away
Just once now and then
Make a sunnier day

Perhaps love will grow
And we’ll lose sight of hate
Our days will be brighter
What a wonderful fate
