Friday Poetry — Dark Moments
Dark Moments
There are moments
Some last for minutes
Some for days
Where circumstances
Are harder to bear
I sit in light
But cannot see
My mind is focused
On things
I cannot control
The rest of Life
Seems like an illusion
Only the blackness
Of my thoughts
Seems clear
I yearn for brighter times
Eternity seems to pass
Before they arrive
And when they do
They are clouded
I will not show my darkness
It hides within me
Feeding on my very soul
Making quite certain
My dark moments return

I don’t know why, but I have been thinking a lot about Danny’s death recently. It’s shaded my life a bit, and thus produced the above free verse. Speaking of which, I plan to collect all the poetry I posted on my MySpace blog and put it on a website somewhere. Probably poetry.shadowkatmandu.net, which does not exist yet.
Thus ends my first week of posts on my own personal blogging site. See you again on Monday.
