Friday Poetry — Clear Miscommunication
Clear Miscommunication
The sky is clear
I see all I can see
The words you speak
Could not plainer be
Upon your statements
I react, take action so quick
But when I am done
You say my head is thick
It’s not what you meant
I did the wrong thing
Then you clearly quote
A song I did not sing
We talk for hours
Or perhaps only minutes
We see each other as fools
Nincompoops and dimwits
That really isn’t so
I respect you a lot
You think highly of me
And the smarts that I’ve got
But when we speak
Our words get so twisted
Misunderstandings abound
Too many to be listed
So I write this verse
Of the human condition
To clear the confusion
It’s a dubious mission
I say that although
My intent is noble and good
Confusion will still rain
In every neighborhood

I have been witness to a couple of misunderstandings lately; thus the poem above. One of those baffles me as the people involved are all nice, polite, helpful folks but one thinks the others were less than honorable.
Anyway, that’s my ditty for the week and I hope you enjoyed it. See you Monday.
