Friday Poetry — Where Are We Now?
Where Are We?
Where are we now?
Our heads are in the clouds
We can barely breathe
With our emotional shrouds
The happiest time we have
Is when we are too young to know
What the world is about
But then we have to grow
Too soon we learn the truth
Emotional variations must intrude
Politics, sex, romance religion
Life is a perpetual feud
Sometimes we cling close together
Other times we stand so far apart
We are lost, adrift in life’s maze
Tearing up the pieces of our heart
Our innocence is gone
It quietly retired
Emotional flames lick our soul
Until our hearts catch fire
Keep that spark alive now
It’s all that we’ve got
Of the battles worth winning
It’s the best to be fought

I hope you enjoyed that odd bit of verse. That’s all I have for this week. See you Monday.
