Focused Distraction

I know what I am doing
I am on a well-plotted course
I am heading for success
Was that a purple horse?

My goodness it was!
I have never seen such a beast
Such beauty and such grace
I am hungry for a feast

I want apple pie and cobbler
For the main course I want some steak
Some sparkling juice to drink down
A good fortune I should make

I’ll earn it well and keep it all
And be as thrifty as I can
People will all look up to me and say
I going to get a minivan

It’ll have nine or ten seats
The biggest will be in the back
It’ll be in shades of blue and red
It’s time to hit the sack

Yes, it’s late and I feel tired
I’ve so much on this bright and sunny day
Focusing on each distraction
I love you so much, I will never stray
