Contemplating the Journey

Sometimes I stop and wonder why
I took this road under the my sky
So many paths to choose
So many that I did refuse
Is the trail I’m on as narrow as I think
Or am I nowhere near the brink?
All these questions running through my mind
Most of them are less than kind
As I wonder and look around
So many others to be found
Some trying to stop along their way
Learn more of their path every day
Others just keep racing along
Care not where they’ve been, is that so wrong?
And here I am, somewhere in between
Don’t know where I’ve going, hardly where I’ve been
Life’s mystery is, I guess, why we live
Each moment worth the consideration we give
Before onto the next we must go
Adding a bit more to what we know
So I leave my pondering for another place
Time to move on, and continue the race

I started today’s poem with some deep free verse.  I didn’t like it, so I rewrote it with rhyming pairs but along a similar theme.

That’s all for now.  See you next week.
