Finally!  I am, with this post, managing to have a Nothing Day post again.  For those keeping count, I haven’t made a Nothing Day post for the last four Thursdays.  That’s none this month until now, and today is the last Thursday of the month.  (Just in the nick of time!)  Anyway, I will hopefully not miss future Thursdays.

My date last Friday did not happen.  I still haven’t heard from the lovely lady I hoped to go out with, but I should see her Sunday.  I will hopefully get good contact information from her and set a new date for a date and this time actually have it.

Last Saturday I got a Kindle for myself.  More accurately, it arrived on Saturday; I ordered it a week ago today.  I also got a red faux (I think it’s faux) leather cover for it with a little light that pops out.  The light is powered by the Kindle and won’t turn on if the Kindle itself is not on.  I am very pleased with my purchase and have, in fact, put a couple of books on it which I had not previously ordered for reading on my laptop.  I have found, in fact, that I prefer reading on it than my laptop.

On a related side note, one of the ebooks I got for it is The Color of Magic, the first in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.  I have always enjoyed his work, and I already have some of his Discworld books in paperback, so it’s good to actually start getting the series in order electronically.  The order of the books doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference, by my understanding, but as I have not gotten the second book I can’t say that for certain.  The one clue I have for this is that I have at least one other Discworld novel from much later in the series and it stands alone rather nicely.

My work hours continue to be long, but at least I feel I am getting reasonably compensated for them.  I learned yesterday that my child support payments will start coming out of my paycheck in three weeks, but my overtime is supposed to last for another five weeks at least so I’ll have a little bit of extra dough before I take a big net pay cut.

Enough said.  With luck, I’ll manage to post again next Thursday.  Meanwhile, I’ll see you tomorrow with a poem.
