Nothing Day! (Spiff, Posting, EverQuest, Poem: Motion)
My son has been here a week, and already Good Things are happening. Every day this week, we have gone for a morning walk. He has kept up with me, and I have not changed my pace. My pace is not terribly fast, but in the past he has had trouble doing that. Later today, we’re going on a longer-than-usual walk, and doing so with a purpose: He’s putting in his first application for employment here in Colorado. We’re going to the Arby’s I like to frequent which is a twenty to thirty minute walk from here.
Later on, he’s going to go to the mall and fill in some applications. I am not sure how well any of this job-hunting will go, as he starts school next week. He is attending a “Life Skills” place that will give him a diploma for attending half-day classes for awhile. How long depends on him. The school thing is more important, though, so we’ll take it one step at a time.
Meanwhile, as you may have noticed, my blog posting has been a bit spotty since I got back from my vacation last month. I hope to improve that soon. After all, today is supposed to be a poetry day, not a Nothing Day. I will finish today’s post with a quick bit of verse.
Meanwhile, in EQ, things continue to progress. I applied for a high end raiding team, got accepted on a Trial basis and even went on a raid with them. It was a crappy night for me and many things went wrong, but I did get to go raid with them. Their raid schedule is Saturday through Wednesday, same as my work, and they start shortly before I leave work. So I’ll be consistently late but should consistently be able to show up.
I have made progress on the last (not the current) expansion’s progression. I completed all of the tasks which will allow me to request a mission which moves me forward in said last expansion. Dan and Boom and Shaka can all get this mission, and I hope later today to complete it and start on the next required series of tasks.
Okay, now for a little poetry:
Motion
Life cannot be lived
Not by standing still
You have to keep on moving
To feel life’s every thrill
I could never find myself
Waiting in one single place
For something nice to happen
To bring a smile to my face
While I keep on moving
Doing many different things
More good than bad time I find
My heart so joyfully sings
So keep yourself moving on forward
Never stop anywhere to rest
You’ll soon know what it means
To be the best of the best of the best
****
That’s it! See you next week.
